In The Beginning…
Late in the 19th century, the steel industry was young, energetic and quickly becoming a powerful economic force in the United States and Europe. Emanuel Woodings was paying close attention. He saw an opportunity and acted upon it. In 1883, he founded Woodings-Verona Tool Corporation to manufacture a variety of tools used in maintaining iron and steel production and supporting the mining industry.
Continuing industrial progress required equipment to become more complex, and the steel and mining industries began to favor suppliers with integrated engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Robert Woodings, Jr. – Emanuel’s grandson – founded Woodings Industrial Corporation in 1949 to meet that challenge.
The Woodings group has continued to grow, innovate and evolve over the years, acquiring Munroe, Inc. in 2009 and Superior Machine in 2023.
